How we do it
Most of what leaves the works has been welded somewhere. Five bays run MIG, pulsed MIG, TIG and MMA, each with a positioner so the joint comes to the welder rather than the other way round.
Every welder is coded to BS EN ISO 9606-1 for the processes and positions they actually weld, and re-tested every two years. Certificates travel with the job, along with a weld map if the drawing asks for one.
For batch work we build a jig on the first day, which is why the fortieth frame costs noticeably less than the first. For one-offs we charge the shop rate and tell you the hours before we start.
Included as standard
- Welding procedure specifications for each joint type
- Weld maps and inspection records with the job
- Jigs built for repeat batches
- Dressed and blended welds where they will show
“We sent the steel package on a Tuesday and had a price with three sensible questions by Thursday. The mezzanine went up over two weekend shifts and the line never stopped.”
Questions about welding
Can you weld stainless and aluminium?
Yes, both, in a separate bay with dedicated tools so carbon steel never contaminates stainless.
Do you do repairs?
Yes, if the part can come to us. Bring it in and we will quote on the bench.
